<p>Since the crisis in the Middle East and North Africa began, citizen journalism has played an important role in the coverage of events in the Middle East. Using the open source Crowdmap system, developed by <a href="http://www.ushahidi.org">Ushahidi</a>, Amnesty International now wishes to play a role in&nbsp; using technology to gather and amplify the voices of those in the region, collecting information on alleged rights violations during the crisis.
